Suitable clothing is important for the heat. Using sun hats of any type are advisable, alongside light clothing that reflects rather than absorbs sun rays.

All these items are worth putting on your camping list and buying before you set out. Essentials usually cost more when available on or near a campsite.

Kids find fires enchanting and need support and guidance whilst the fire is lit. You may find the children can enjoy campfires if you involve them with the collecting of wood and teaching them how and why we play it safe, when making a campfire.

Safety with food whilst camping should be treated the same as at home with the difference being we are more prone to food contamination. Being aware of meats we are using and utensils used is essential. Tinned, dried or packaged food is the safest option, although being smart with any foods will be fine.

Keeping Valuables Safe
